My car stereo is not working for a week now, it only displays Att everytime i turn the power on. I cannot use Cd / Casette or even the FM Radio. Please help me! Thanks in advance.
I am having a similar problem and would appreciate some help. I have a Sony AM/FM Compact CD Player (Model No.CDX-HS70MS) and a 6-CD Changer (Model No. CDX-T69) installed in a boat. All was working fine. Turned it off for the night but when I turned it on in the morning, I have no sound from the CD Changer. I have sound from radio and from the single CD built into the AM/FM radio, but nothing from the CD Changer. I too have an ATT button on a remote control and also on a marine remote commander. Is it possible that the ATT button on one of these units is activated and only muting the sound from the 6 CD Changer and not also affecting the sound from the radio or single CD built into the radio? Any other reasons why I have lost sound from only the CD changer?
What Does Att Mean On A Car Cd Player? Well a couple of weeks ago my car cd player started saying att-on and it wont play until u hit it till it says att-off i would really like to know what att means so i can fix this problem Ads by GoogleAll-New Infiniti QX. Inspired Perfomance by Infiniti. Request a Brochure Now! www.Infiniti-me.com/QXAttenuation means a reduction in the amplitude level of the outputted sound. In English, it makes the CD player's volume quieter whilst it's on. My Sony CD player has a button marked Att. When I push it, the music that I am hearing is greatly reduced in volume. When I push the button again, the volume level returns to normal. If the volume at which you have the CD player set at, is lower than about 13 (on mine, anyway), the Att button actually mutes the unit. So, this isn't a problem, it's actually a function of the unit, *if* it happens when you are pushing that button (or if you have a system that is connected to your mobile phone or something similar, which may utilize the Att function in order to reduce the volume of your system when a call comes in). If, on the other hand, it's just happening all on it's own, it's likely that your player's developed a fault, and to be honest a fault like that is either going to be a) unfixable or b) cost more to fix than a new head unit would (just talking from experience on faults in this type of thing, here).
Att is the short form of ATTENUATE which is used if u want to suddenly lower the volume of ur stereo, you must be hearing ur stereo with a very slight sound, it usually goes off automatically when u increase the volume or when u press the ATT button on ur stereo again....try it if it works fine other wise get it fixed

i don't have remote for my car stereo. is there any solution for this? if i replace my stock unit with a new one will the Att still appear?
it was "muted". you accidentally pressed the att button. find the att button on your remote and will work fine again.
