Hi,

I am moving from Dubai to Qatar and in the regard want to bring my car to Doha as part of shipping my personal effects. The car is for personal use.

I have heard various thing that it can't be older than 5 years, but on the customs web-site it states that he car must be min. 3 years old ? My car is a Mercedes 2004 with very low milaege. Can I bring it into Doha ?

All help greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Dag

I did the same move two years ago, and I brought my 4 years old car.

I believe that the age limit is 5 years regardless of the mileage or any other consideration.

keep in mind that you will have to pay 5% customs if you cannot that these hase been already paid in UAE. (usually you can get a paper from the car importer in UAE that will allow you to go with to the UAE customs to get this official certificate)

To Baldrick2dogs, are you sure I can bring it without a problem ? I hear many different things such as the car can not be older than 5 years, yet other site claim it must be at least 3 years old....Do you know what the situation is regarding age of the car ?

Thanks.

Suggest that you contact customs directly to check with them. Here you might get misinformation that can cost you money.
