Privilege number ownership service

The Traffic Department has launched the privilege number ownership service which will testify the ownership of the special number. 

As part of this, the department will issue a privilege card to the person concerned with his name, personal number, privilege number and registration date. 

The traffic department has urged the owners of privilege numbers to visit the privilege numbers section at the old Traffic Department building in Madina Khalifa North, to complete the registration procedures.

“They should bring their ID cards and pay QR100 as registration fee,” a statement issued by the public relations department at the Ministry of Interior said.

By completing the procedures, the privilege number owners will have the right to transfer the ownership by filling up a special form available in the department.

The legal and administrative authority to keep or cancel the number plates will rest with the department concerned.

Except in the case of ownership transfer by way of inheritance, the applicant should pay a specific percentage of the sale or the base price, whichever is greater.

In case the owner dies without leaving an heir, the ownership will lie with the State, the statement added.
