Hi,

My wife is trying to get a driving licence in Qatar. She have a driving licence back in our country and drives well. She wanted to register for a direct driving test. But I recently heard that if you fail in direct test you need to attend a full training course which is 40 hours.

Also the failure rate now a days is high compared to previous years.

anybody knows about these please advise

we appreciate your help

Thanks

With UK license, you don't have to take the test, you can just go to the Main Traffic Dept. and exchange it. US DL yes, you have the option to take it directly.

I thought US DL holders had to do part of the test?

If you have a ten years driving license from your country you can take a direct test.

If you have a US or UK License you can get a license immediately without a test

There was a post today at Qatar Living that states which categories of people are entitled to a driving license. You can check whether your profession in your ID is mentioned in that list.

Yes a half course would be a better option. Also check profession on the visa they are not giving to certain categories.
