Boots Pricing ???

First time i went to Boots at villagio this morning. I saw a Sensodyne Tooth Paste for QR 20 (i am not 100 percents that Carrefour also put their prices up but normally for big sensodyne i can buy for QR 14 to QR 16 depend on the types).

Bought a hair clip for QR 17, but saw the pricing is 6 poundsterling.

So do you think Boots is cheaper or more expensive? How can they claim is the cheapest if you can get some of the items cheaper next door in Carrefour?

I don't know if it is any cheaper, but I don't think they are worried about that, because so many westerners are thrilled to have Boots here.

Let's just hope that they can overcome the "service" problem of other shops in Doha...some woman standing over you the entire time you are looking at makeup or perfume as if you are going to steal the store! The other day I finally turned to the two (not one, but two!) women who had appeared to just stand and silently stare at me while I looked for what I wanted and politely told them I was just looking but would come find them if I needed help. They looked taken aback, stood there a bit longer, but finally left me alone in peace to browse!

I was at Boots today, looked around, had no clue where to start and what to buy (cause everything looks good!) so I ended up leaving without buying anything :-(

I need to take someone with me next time who's a Boot's expert to help me around.

I just hope Boots here can avoid the pitfall of most retailers in Doha: Out of Stock!

Then you have to wait till God knows when till the item you want reappears on the shelves.

on the goods? I have seen that in M&S and you can see it's the equivalent cost as UK

I was in Boots at Villagio a couple of weeks ago. I was delighted they had my favourite body spray (their own brand) in stock. In any Boots I go into in England they are almost ALWAYS out of stock for this particular spray.

I bought a couple because it's cheap enough to splash it all over without worrying about the cost! However, when I checked the bill it seemed to me it was more expensive here than in UK.

It's maybe a year since I bought any at home, but I'm sure it was still about, say, QR14. Here I paid QR22.

I didn't check the other stuff I bought, but I will check when I get home in 10 days time. Perhaps it's just gone up in price everywhere.

I'll be in Villagio tomorrow (insha-allah) and will have a good snoop at the prices in Boots ;P

well actually the hair clip is cheaper with what you are paying in the UK. 6 pound is more than 42 riyal and the price it here 17 riyal.
