I went to Carrefour (landmark) today looking for stuff for pumpkin pie, but couldnt find pumpkin pie filling anywhere, unless I missed it in some random section. Anyone know if this is available anywhere? And if to last resort, can you buy a real pumpkin anywhere? thanks
You have to stock up before October. Those danged Canucks have their Thanksgiving early and beat us Yanks out for all the canned pumpkin. I've taken to breaking into their villas and "liberating" the pumpkin for a proper holiday!
Thanks everyone! Does Megamart have this in stock on and off throughout the year or is it something you should start looking for a few months in advance? I'd like to stock a few so I can be prepared for next year, does the canned one have a pretty long shelf life?
and was told by staff that it is now all gone. Initial shipment only lasted about 3 days. They do expect another shipment next week. But that's after Thanksgiving. I have never seen it at any other grocery store in Doha besides Megamart. If you really need to make pumpkin pie (and what would Thanksgiving be without one!) then it really is quite easy to buy a whole pumpkin, cut it up and cook it down. There should be real pumpkins. I know they have them at Wholesale market and Megamart still. Check the internet for recipes/directions. Good luck.

They dont have it in their shelves so I asked a staff member and he told me that they got but its always in their inventory room because it is only for special customers. I was like WHAT? WHY? then he said that its ok to give me so he did, and I bought it.

i went to mega mart yesterday - they have loads on a stand by the checkouts
So when you find it, buy a few cans to keep for later. They do last quite awhile.

I got it Libby's brand. Here is a pic of it.
It's quite small, round and flat and a deep orange colour.
