is Carrefour Selling fake product..?
Yesterday night I brought some tools from the biggest and well known hypermarket (Carrefour-Villagio). for very urgent maintanace in my house, but after reaching home I realise it is incomplete paking (no attachment or blades on Cutter, and no bits in drill)...today morning I am approching them(I think they open only after 9AM)..I will let you all what is there responce wait till that,,,,and Hope they will consider me for lossing my time and money.
TB - God knows, I suspect whoever owns C4 here as a big say on what other supermarkets are allowed to open/not open.
And I was in Carrefour :(
Thing is... Sainsbury's is majority owned by Qatar now. Why aren't we blessed with one of those opening up out here?
TB - weirdly enough it was a tesco that I was in in SE Asia - well laid out, all Fruit and veg looked fresh, variety of products, helpful staff. I was in heaven
and tell me who's being silly.
even clownfish thought its funny....and I did find it amusing too that's why I placed "a smiley" after my comment (if you ever had the chance to notice it).
Well...if I misunderstood your post...my bad.
Still waiting for Tesco to open here. That would be amazing!
I said C4 sucks. In point of fact i was in a very rural part of SE Asia recently and they still had a better supermarket then we have here.. Qatar, expect amazing!!!!!
Lol! Don't respond, if you respond, I will stop smiling! Lol! She used to be a good friend!
azilana - I thought it was about C4 selling defective products and I gave an example of one. Anyhow C4 sucks big time
Yeha CAT FIGHT!!
lol... this is very funny.
the topic is CARREFOUR selling cheap products...
then you went from gadgets to "muted" toasters....silly, isn't it?
Zilana - what a very silly comment - I don't know how to use a toaster. That's right, because toasters are such complicated pieces of kitchen equipment that they come with a 9 page operating manual???
if that cheap toaster you bought stopped working after 3 months, it may be due to 2 things:
you bought a defective toaster...or you dont know how to use it :)
to pay when you welcome China products to your Country.
Quantity compromising quality for lower price! Not to mention counterfeit ones... the awakening of the sleeping Dragon!
Hard to check that a toaster will not work in 3 months time, toasters tend not to be able to tell you that as they cannot talk
ask for a C4 representative to open the package for inspection. You're the customer and its your money so you have the right to get your money's worth.
C4 sells cheap products, but that doesn't mean we have to check what we buy, right?
In my case, whenever I buy something from C4, I take the time to scrutinize the item..coz I hate going back a replacement.
I tell them, if you can't replace the item, I'll return it and get something else which is of the same price cost/value AND WE'RE EVEN. And they agree to that...
Having given the subject careful consideration. I would like to remove the word 'sometimes' from my earlier comment.
I have bought a lot of things, from appliances to furniture in C4. So far they failed me once, a portable battery-operated water dispenser costing 18 QR. Returned it and replaced it. That was a year ago!
If you really find their products defective, then why go back?
I also experienced two other failure, an iron and a n electric kettle, but from different stores, and yes, both were replaced and khalas, they are still working!
The best comment I saw above is, open the package and check it with your own eyes. If you don't and just embank on your "trust", then no need to complain on board. Return it at once and have it replaced! Tsk tsk tsk!
Also flor - I take it you are some kind of masochist who likes to be cheated and loves taking it up the jacksy
isolated??? - everything that I have ever bought from Carrefour that was non pershiable has perished in the first few months - ie garden chairs which broke the first time someone sat on them, toasters that ceased to work after a couple of months, kettle, ditto and the list goes on, I cease to buy anything like that from C4. Particularly when you don't get your money back and struggle to get a refund.
flor... sometimes you are a prize male chicken
discuss it here? If you find defective products, either return it, have it replaced or report it. Khallas!
Same when I bought a large toy that needed assembling (although it was not Carrefour). The packaging was already trashed so I asked repeatedly if all the pieces were there as I did not want to empty the whole box on the shop floor. repeatedly they assured me everything was in the box. But low and behold when I got it home important parts were missing like the nuts, bolts and screws, can't say i was surprised but annoyed as I had asked the question many times and was given assurances. As you can probably tell, I took it back to the store. It is no wonder they do not give refunds here, they know they are selling a shoddy product half the time and will need to give refunds a lot. They really need to change the consumer laws and stop screwing the customers
i should had met you earlier in my life lol,
Dear QL Friends, thank you very much for giving this much response for my post and today morning I replaced it from customer service and hope will not happen what timebandit said
i bought a HP desktop once and found that it was already been used sometime earlier. The computer was registered under some name and the software was also updated some time ago. When i approached them, they just took another new HP desktop and replaced the one with me into that box and put it right back in the rack.
Steam cleaner for what?
yes, I have similar experience twice from City centre carrefour, Both times I had to go back again to replace the Box because of the missing items inside. I never had such experiences in my whole life from anywhere else except carrefour.
Carrefour Selling cheap products.

don't mix the chocolate bar with boiling water: put it in a metal recipient, and put the recipient on boiling water, so the chocolate melts and can be poured into a mold and kept until cooled and solid again. thus u can shape ur chocolate into any shape, or even put caramel inside...
the french writing probably describe this technique called "Bain-Marie"
I bought a steam cleaner last week, and when I opened this supposedly new item I found the water tank still had water in it. So now I'm thinking maybe it is used, but I don't care too much about it and continue to set it up to try out. Within minuets the thing was leaking all over the floor. Obviously the last owner also discovered the leak and returned it, only for it to be repackaged and back on sale again.
If you have the original receipt, then you can exchange it. I think you got the open one. I saw many people opened and kept them in the same place (those display items)
the sales person does the re-packing again ! :)
My Sense, how come the packages are closed with tape? Do the customers open them and then tape them again?
doha186 off ur caps lock plz !
ONE TIME i BOUGHT A CHOCOLATE BAR, AND I THOUGHT IT WAS A CHOCOLATE BUT IT'S A CHOCOLATE BAR THAT YOU MUST MIX WITH HOT WATER, SOMETHING LIKE THAT, THE PRINTING IS WRITTEN FRENCH, HOW SHOULD I KNOW, THAT CHOCOLATE IT AT THE CANDY BAR ROW
If they are relectunt to etnertain you or satisfy you dont hesitate to inform Baladiya......Once you do that, just wait and see the response.....
Customs never open the packages one by one especially small ones..those has been opened by costumers trying to see whats inside the package, then lost some of the items from it. Tools mostly made of low quality at carefour made in china.
i bought Hob-Nobs which was sealed from head to toe, but when i opened it, i found all broken pieces inside...:(
Customs people did tat ? :( Grrr....
Have you ever bought anything at Carrefour that was not opened?
does the customs people have tat much of time on hand to open each and every package ? :(
All packages have been opened by the customs! You MUST always check if the content is complete. It should be Carrefour who does it, but they don't. So, it's up to you. You know, SERVICE DOESN'T exist in Qatar!
I don't think they sell fake items though. Or at least I hope not.
I have several experiences of opening packaging of items bought from Carrefour, only to discover that someone else had already owned the item before me. On each occasion I took the items back to Carrefour and wasted my breath telling them that they should not simply repackage returned items and put them back out for sale.
