Crappy shop names in Doha

herne
By herne

Hi guys;

I see in Doha sooo oftenly crappy shop names like Ice Cream Plaza which is an old small garage shop, or Modern Veterinary Center, which is the most disgusting veterinary in the world.
These are just a few example, but surely you saw some other, so just name it! :)
Why shop owners can't give a matching name? Like Tuna Can Coackroach Center...:D

My favourite is: Estiqlal for chicken sell. Honestly, couldn't they find even one person who spoke English to tell them that name doesn't make any sense?

I saw one place named " Doha International Center for Special Needs" .

It sounds like a service provider for bachelors in Qatar . If anyone knows what kind of special needs they provide , please inform me :)

I always found the idea of the 'hot bread bakery' to be intriguing, as though until recently bread was baked using the primitive 'cold-baked' method.

Not only is the 'Testy Cafe' a spelling error in English (at least I hope it's a spelling error and not a reflection of either the manager's mood, or menue inclusions) but in Arabic the name is mispelled as well.

I'm a fan of shops that sell 'tires'.

I like any shop that has the word 'dream' in front of it.

I'm yet to see too many young boys at the 'Twinky cafe'.

And when I have a child I will definetely shop at 'magic happy baby' in Markhikya.

Think my favourite was the food shop near the Landmark Mall with the sign proudly displaying the name of "Testys"

HHhhmmmmnn, gotta eat what they are cooking there. Sadly now been renamed.

Also, not a shop name, but love the writing on the side of a truck with "Raw Sewerage" emblazoned on the side and "Do Not Drink" just underneath. Damn, and I was hoping to have a quick half pint of raw sewerage too.
