Does new ban apply to convenient stores?

"The Ministry of Trade and Business has issued a notice banning commercial activities in residential areas." It ends with saying, "Essential services will be available in the residential areas..."

Would this mean that convenient stores located in residential buildings will have to relocate when their licenses are up?

akshaysoni123,

that is not the right criteria, as insurance companies and other services also apply.

as i said, its any business that is operating in a villa.

they want them out, so they can fill in all the empty office space in west bay (built with no need and no purpose)!

I suppose this only goes out to industries relating to manufacturing of goods and not to service industries like departmental stores

This is just a way to push out the businesses operating in villas and force them to move into the empty buildings in down town west bay.

Not more than that, so convenient stores, barber shops and laundries can relax ;)

As soon as a minister has to go to Lulu for his morning paper instead of beeping his horn outside a bakala, they'll rescind that rule.

It's saying "companies"; I believe this means business and servicing companies, not ordinary shops.

This question should go to the Ministry of Trade and Business!
