I've been looking all over Harman Kardon or JBL speakers for a home theater set up. Does anyone know where I can find them? The guys here on QL always know where everything is!
Modern home has Bose which in my experience isn't as good as Harman Kardon or JBL.
I passed by Salwa road and the great thing is that you have Barzan Digital, Video Home (LG) and TechnoQ all very close to each other. I also found Pioneer there.
Video Home had some JBLs but they were the cheaper entry level 5 speaker set ups and the staff were useless.
TechnoQ had quite a selection and they had also Denon electronics which are very good but they were quite busy so will come again another time.
I really liked the selection at Barzan and will come back again to listen to the KEF egg shaped speakers http://whathifi.com/Review/KEF-KHT3005SE/ supposedly they are excellent.
You cannot be too wrong if you go with either one of these 2 brands. Speakers selection is very subjective though. It is very much dependent on the type of musics/movies that you predominantly listen to or watch. It's always best to go test them out yourself.

HomeTheater.....make sure the one you select is "THX certified".....there are very few out there with this certificate.
THX is a standard....and a "certificate" indicates that it can reproduce sound in accordance to that standard.
If you find another brand with the THX then take that instead of HK or JBL(it would depend upon the stock available in there).
TechnoQ are on Salwa Road. The speaker selection tends to be more on the disco side - ie, big boxes with wire mesh on the front.
