Incompetent Carrefour !!!!!
Carrefour is probably the worst and most incompetent ' supermarket chains in the World. Not a single Turkey available this year but loads of stuffing ?????? For what !!! No Brussel sprouts !!! What planet is Carrefour from ???? Please help by boycotting this Company and shop at Lulu or Meggamart.

marhaba7 -its the distributor issue, most of the hotels already blocked the pre-order for turkey and having them cooked and sold in their value. Probably there is only one or two distributors and they made the deals with the hotel chains already. So you are left with no choice (like most things here), your only choice is to get it pre-ordered from hotels. Its not the supermarket chain issue. (Same for lobsters here, I heard that there is only 2 distributors and they mostly sell their stocks to the hotels.

All is now well. Just back from Al Khor. Bought an 18kg Self basting Bustard and 2 packets from their new range - " Bollywood Bustard Korma " All the staff were dressed as Bustards and gave a free demo entitles " How to stuff a Bustard. " Great service but of course it would be as it is not French. I am having a Peruvian Mongoose on New Years Eve !
Mon ami. I am surprised at your outburst. Ze French do not consider ze Turkey as a delicacy or a bird native to ze Republic. Therefore, it is not available at carrefour..
You should try the ortolan, a tiny songbird that gourmands love to eat, especially with truffles and a glass of white wine...

I have just receive a text to let me know that an ideal alternative to turkey this year is the Arabian Bustard ( yes that is a bird ) Apparently the Bustard is equelly succulent, juicy and plump and that it too has the usual 2 legs ! A Bustard factory has been set up in Al Khor where they have a factory shop outlet too !! Wowzer ! They even do Mini Bustard Kievs, Whopper Bopper Bustard Burgers, Cheesy Bustards and Bustard Tikka Suprise ! Loads of Bustard products now available ! Hurry whilst Bustard stocks last !!
Next Friday bring their managers on a friendly tour of LuLu D Ring Road .................

And another thing - no Brussel Sprouts ( thats Choux de Bruxelles in frog lingo ) Oui, Carrefour does have the frozen variety but I prefer the crunchy fresh ones because I am an exponent of the Tradition of passing wind viciously during the Queens Speach! And another thing, yes we in the United kingdom do still have a Queen which is more than the french can say ! They lopped off their Royal families heads years ago. Merde !
And another thing - just what do I now do with 4 packets of Paxo stuffing???? No dont tell me.
And another thing - when I asked about buying a Turkey one of their Managers - Pierre Le Incompitent'e told me the delivery will reach Qatar in 3 weeks - thats AFTER Christmas !!! He then went on to suggest i have Duck or Goose !! I DO NOT LIKE DUCK OR GOOSE! C'est Merde !!
