KIA Sorento or Mohave
Hi Everyone,
I saw a KIA Mohave on the road today and was like wow, it looked better than Honda Pilot and then checked out their website and saw Sorento (with panoramic view from sun roof). I am booking a test drive with them tomorrow.
What is the general view about these cars - specially their 2010,2011 and 2012 models?
Models for those year for LC, Prado and Patrol/Pathfinders are very dear. KIA seems far more value for money than these.
Any KIA owners for those models like to share their opinions on service quality and duration?
where i can get the price list of new kia vehicles
Hmm... thanks everyone. I am more inclined for a second hand Pajero now. Not only for resale but also from size point of view. As long as I have a usb mp3 player and cruise control, other bells and whistles (or lack thereof) dont bother me much.
truth .....
very well said Nadeem . I liked your point and that is the
been a kia sportage owner since 2008 (2009 model). got the unit at 65k. never had issues. service center very efficient -fast, and parts are cheap. I can fairly say, that i can dispose the car as of this writing for 40K easily (50K mileage). That means 25K less from the purchased price after 4 1/2 years of use. Can anyone do the same with other mentioned brands? I feel like none, thus , the car has indeed have a good resale value from the initial purchased price.
I'll put Kia just a slight notch below Hyundai but don't let that discourage you. Both get a lot less credit than they deserve. I'll address the resale issue in a moment, but for the price, these underdog brands offer most bang for the buck and frankly put its upscale rivals to shame in terms of quality and amenities. Since I can only speak of my experience of the US market, it might be news to some that in terms of quality, Kia/Hyundai have consistently beat every luxury brand other than Infiniti and Lexus.
The resale issue....for the most part, LC and NP enjoy a good resale here but one also overpays to buy them and then you get portion of that back when you sell. In comparison, when you don't overpay, you don't get it back. In depreciation alone, the cost of ownership of a new VX-R is around 3K per month. Try catching up with the depreciation if your VX-R is under a loan. While the rest of the duty-free world buys it for around $71K, AAA sells it for $86K. This $15K is the overpayment, a potion of which comes back in form of the elusive resale, in a way. The prices of remaining cars sold locally, are more or less in line with the rest of the duty-free world.
another owner of kia sorento... not completely happy but no complaints
i am a proud owner of 2012 kia sorento. yes rakesh, people keep saying no resale value, i dont bother as you had saving in the total cost, maintenance and spare parts, why should bother resale value, and the fact that more kia now than ever here in qatar. people hardly change their mind that japs' car is better not knowing that korean is very much at par with them.
I am owning Mohave for 3yrs now, vehicle is good, lots of features. Spare and service is cheap compared to many rival brands. Oil & filter change, spark plug + transmission oil + belts change cost abt 2500/-. Only thing is when u buy ppl start eating ur head saying no resale value etc.
Go for toyota , nissan , mitsubishi atleast ... KIA / Hundai only with maximum options... with no proper road grip & u will soon find the difference between these make's car and solid like mentioned above.
