Kia Sportage

Just back from South Africa where the new Kia Sportage is on the road.
IMHO I think after 2 ugly versions, KIA have finally produced a good looking car. The pictures don't really do it justice though.
Is it available here yet? (Not that I'm giving up my Patrol!)

Nice shape ... even the Hyundai Tuscan looks great ... the Koreans have really picked up on their designs.
Someone here commented that Kia Sportage is a stupid car and that Mitsubishy Outlander, Toyota Rav4, Nissan Qashqai, Honda CRV should be considered. What that person does not realize is that all of them cost almost twice as much as a KIa Sportage and the new KIA Sportage has better shape then all of them put together.
But I would still not buy the new Kia Sportage because SsangYong Kyron with better specs, better on road & offroad performance and bigger size sells for QR. 72000 ... that is just QR. 5000 more then the new Sportage.
I drive Kyron and it is absolutely worth every riyal I spent on the car ... it is an honest car that does not empty your bank account because of its brand name.

my opinion its a just a nice cover on a horrible car...
2 wheel drive and 4 cylinder engine......chasis based on the old one....and no head room on the rear....

Bald Rick - KIA hired the head of design from Audi couple of years back. These are his designs. They're called "the tiger snout" or something or other.
It might be good looking, but the new car cheap plastic smell is terrible. I used to rent these. Made my stomach turn (even with cars a few months old). Horribly unrefined drive - both Sportage and Cerrato. Like there are pebbles in the engine or something.
Realy a stupid vehicle with lot of offerings & the service of Kia will be harrasing one. Just think about the value loss after 3 to 5 years...dont go for it. Try with Mitsubishy Outlander, Toyota Rav4, Nissan Qashqai....But the better one will be Honda CRV in all sence..
Drag, I've got hundreds of dusters, I use them for cleaning the Patrol :P
Kia Sportage... always had a nice sleek design... Now I think they added little more bulky appearance on the outside...
Looks a cross between the old Sportage and Xterra

yes its already here.. im working in kia! its 2011 model. i like it also, the red one! cool...
well ...dey bagged themselves a new designer...Peter Schreyer...the guy was with Audi for around 25 yrs...and was de designer of one of de prettiest cars...de Audi tt.....I guess it shows...
my wifes freind in Dubai has just bought the 2011 Tucson for 67K AED, I would imagine something similar in Doha.
