Laptop to be shipped via Aramex shop n ship

I was thinking has anyone used the Aramex shop n ship service?
If so, have you used for big ticket items, such as a laptop?

I wanted to customize a Toshiba laptop from US and then use the Aramex shipping to have it shipped it to me.

The Toshiba laptops available in middle east are absolute crap, the things I want in a laptop are just not there….on the other hand, I could go for a Sony Vaio but it just seems expensive for nothing.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

I know a friend who ordered a computer and had it sent to Aramex, but maybe it was not a Toshiba. I agree with Secretagent69, it might be easiest to order from Amazon, who will ship to Aramex no problem. If you want a custom-ordered laptop, you could have it shipped to a reliable friend in the States, who could then simply put a new label on it and send it to your Aramex box. I don't think my friend had any problems with customs when she ordered her computer through aramex. How often are you in the States? If you do not need the laptop immediately, or if you will be there anytime soon, you could order the laptop and have it sent to a friend, then carry it back in your hand luggage.

Your only option is to get a friend in the US to order it for you and then have him send it to Aramex. I did this for a 3000 dollar HP laptop and didnt have to pay any customs in Qatar.

OR

You can buy one off of Amazon.com. They will ship to your Aramex address and they do allow foreign credit cards. I did this to buy an Apple Macbook and again did not have to pay Qatar customs.

This is absolute BS....why am I stuck with this sort of crap arrangement, toshiba direct in US mentions the following:

NOTE: Toshiba cannot ship to PO Boxes or freight forwarding companies. Please include the physical address that is either on file with your credit card company or one that you can have

added by contacting your credit card company.

Which means Aramex will not work for me...im yet again limited to laptops which I don't want..or buy those laptops which have a cost equivilent to a ticket back to Australia.

What I need in a laptop is as below:

around 14.1' screen

have its own video mem card

RAM be expandable to 8gb (these have been finally released)

intel duo core thingi

not fussed on hard drive

wifi with a/g/n

i strictly don't want an in-built cam

I hate the glossy type screens.

Guys what do i do???? am i being too fussy with a laptop requirement?? i have been pondering on this since June.

The only issue you can face with a laptop is if its cost is above 1000Usd (Qatar customs will hold it),cost you will exceed surely for a customized Toshiba.

Call Aramex for information on customs taxes.
