Ok, where can I get a decent manicure, pedicure and waxing? Please do not tell me Royal Nails at Landmark.  The operators there are not happy and the pedicre chair set up is less than comfortable.

Please advise!

I say go to the Marriott Spa. It's reasonably priced and the staff is friendly. I go to Skin & Soul to get the work done. It's right by where I live and I go mostly for the convenience. It's a two-story structure and I hate being shuttled up and down the stairs and from one room to another. And with a cool (cold)decor and somewhat chilly reception I got from the staff (and no reading material in English!!), I go there just for the convenience.

how are they priced?

is it good or not for someone who likes getting the works (waxing, threading, facials, pedi/mani)

I went there after seeing an ad in Marhaba. It's located by the intersection of Muntazah and the D-Ring road (near Tadamun roundabout).

I do not recommend getting waxing done there as they use roll-on wax and it's not as good as the kind that's spread. I had a really good experience with threading by a girl who recently came from Lebanon. She also did a good job of plucking eye brows.

Not big into manicure or pedicure but got them done there. I think they were okay.

One note of caution: the atmosphere is rather chilly to match of "friendliness" of the staff. The Lebanese girl was an exception. As were the TCNs.

i recently went to Royal Plaza, can't believe I have been here 3 months and not heard of this fab shopping centre.

Nails on the first floor (a little white door) do good waxing/pedicure/manicure....but u must state how much of the cuticle u want cut!!!!.

Boudior is a fab shop for christmas presents, everything being one offs from Lebanon, gorgeous ballet pumps for ladies and kids, just devine.

cafe najar does a great goats cheese salad and fab lemonade....even if it can't be laced with gin...

happy shopping

I usually go to the hotels, they are rather expensive (125 QR for a manicure pedicure) but the Intercon especially is a really enjoyable experience, you can look out over the pool and check out the talent while being pampered. Not that your wife will be checking out the talent of course. Unless you want to have a swim while she's being treated.

Also a new place opened up at Royal Plaza I think.

Sorry but I cannot remember the name but there is a beauty salon beside the mazda showroom. It is not all that fancy but it is clean and the standard good. The ladies that normally do me are really nice and although not a lot of conversation it is nice and relaxing.

Take a right off salwa road and drive down beside Jadir bookstore. Mazda showroom on left hand side on bend. Follow bend round to right and the salon is on the right.
