Yeah, I was all kinds of in love with Villagio. The Venetian motif rocks! I'm hoping to get to live in the Bilal, across from City Centre. They showed me the Bilal and another place, whose name escapes me, but I wasn't all that impressed with. Alsa... can't think of it.

At least City Centre had a Carrefour and such, so I could pop across for shopping. Dunno how 'popping across' will be, though, as that road is slightly busy.

Ha ha--it was funny. The relocation specialist said 'oh, just bring your trolley over from Carrefour, no one cares', and I just cracked up. I'd be like the homeless women, or the women with all the cats on The Simpsons, pushing a shopping trolley across the street. Especially to a place as nice as the Bilal... good lord. Good times, good times!

Sorry, that aside had nothing to do with Marks & Sparks. I'm excited, though, to have all the wonderful British shops to go to again.

Villagio is the best mall here much larger than any of the others if you do go to Landmark it is worth trying out the cinema especially on a Friday afternoon as it is not as busy.

Cheers jauntie!

Just trying to get my bearings a bit. I'm supposed to fly next Tuesday, and hopefully nothing will go wrong on my arrival processings so I can stay. We'll see.

Didn't get to Landmark when I was in Doha in July, just Villagio.

Not to hijack by any means, but where is the Marks & Sparks in Doha? The Villagio, with all the other "new" British shops such as Boots, Virgin, etc?

Think Oryx said the sale at M&S had just finished. I also got a pair of trews for half price. I was puzzled, because an identical pair, same make, same everything, just a different colour, were NOT in the sale. Found that very strange ... I tried taking both pairs to about 3 different assistants, but couldn't get them to change the price lol

watch out for supposed sales in Doha.

someone posted in here not too long ago that they were in mango and bought a shirt at regular price. the following week they were back at mango, with the shirt on "sale" after the regular price had been increased. It ended up being 3-4 QAR cheaper on sale but was advertized as a discount of 30-40%.

other people posted that they had seen the same thing in other stores.

i would hope that ramadam would bring at least a temporary surge in ethics, but i think that is wishful thinking.
