For those who are planning to invest on a DSLR and those who think of upgrading to a Nikon D5100 - Is it Worth it?
See this review from Jared to get an idea:

dont be lazy to find the ISO settings =)
d5100 is for amateur and beginner, so if you dont have a budget, go for d5100.. its worth the price, and it said that d5100 have the same sensor as d7000 has...
D7000 is the big brother and its an awsome camera. I love it. The D5100 is the second in the latest crop frame releases from Nikon, and the third is the D3100. If you've got the money, Like X-snipes says, better go for the D7000. But be aware that is is Big! bigger than those cameras you could usually carry on all your trips... The other two are comparably smaller and lighter to carry around..
You also need to note that as per the above reviews from Jared polin, the D5100 misses a dedicated ISO button, so you will have to go through menu's to change your ISO. This can be painful (wonder what made Nikon do this on a DSLR). Meanwhile, the good news is it has 3 stop increments of ISO unlike the bigger and smaller brothers. So you can easily use ISO 125, 160, 640 etc..
Camera bodies are expensive but only has 1 year warranty. Resale is not that good. If you asked me, go for the D7000... the best nikon Ever.
