Playstation always found a way to surpass other video game consoles but its weakness was always the first generation of all playstations always had some flaws, right nwo i would say its still the first generation of the PS3 so i woudl wait untill later this year untill i buy one because sony themselves claimes before the release that game loading time was slower than expected and not tuned perfectly yet, but they had to go ahead and release the console anyway to meet time-deadlines and share-holder expectations etc ect.
Alway wait a year and a half or so before buying the new Playstation, not only will some bugs be fixed, but there is always a price drop, and possible a slimmer smaller version introduced as with PS1 and PS2.
My wife got me a PS3 for our first wedding anniversary. I was really surprised. But i was even more surprised when i turned it on and it didn't work. That was my first experience. She bought it from Saqr (Falcon Video) in Frig Nasser. They gave me a new piece the next day. It's a 60GB and comes with just one controller and NO games. First thing i did when i turned it on was a software update. All i had to do was connect it to my home wifi network. The menu is identical to that of the PSP. It also connects your PSP to it wirelessly and access music, image and videos from your PS3 on your PSP screen. Right now i have more games for my PSP than the PS3......

I heard there's going to be a launch later this year about 20gb PS 3, which will cost probably around 700-1000 QR.
