Right man to be employed in right place

I had visited City center on 29th May’08, and after my work was over I decided to walk in to Carrefour, to buy some breakfast 1045hrs.
Decided to buy a pizza and walked to the counter.....
At the counter there were 4 different varieties of pizza's but only one of it had a name tag which read as VEG PIZZA.
I decided to buy a chicken pizza and this is the conversation I had with the sales man Mr Saleh...

Q. I pointed my finger towards a pizza which looked like Chicken and asked the sales man… Is this a chicken pizza?
A. Mr Saleh replies... How does it look like!!! (Very rude)

Q. I want to buy a chicken pizza?
A. Touching the pizza, how does it look like!!! (Repeated the sales man)

Q. I told the sale man, it could be even a fish stuffed pizza, but could u confirm if it has chicken on it?
A. Mr Saleh just walks off the counter (smiling and commenting and making fun of me) and tell me from a long distance “if u want, u buy or else leave"... And then he starts attending to other Arabic speaking customers.

I felt insulted... and I walked towards the customer service counter, I spoke to a lady supervisor of fresh food section, she first hand apologized to me and walked with me to the pizza counter once again to deliver me what I wanted.

Unfortunately this sales man Mr Saleh was rude to her as well; I was so surprised with Mr Saleh's careless attitude.

I started enquiring for the manager on duty, and another sales man who came to ask me what is my problem and later he told me there is no manager on duty maybe he is off today... (Sounds ridicules A large store does not have a on duty manager)

The poor lady supervisor who also felt insulted with this staffs attitude told me to go back to the customer service counter and ask for the manager fresh foods... and I did the same.

Next 5 mins, i had 2 gentlemen walking towards me, introduced themselves and heard my problem... Later took me to the pizza counter and made this staff apology to me.

They also got me the pizza as complementary, later guided me till the entrances of the store, and told me to give a written complaint..

Carrefour should be proud of there middle management staff... but should emphasis more training to the lower level staff.

At least management where willing to help. Too many places try and cover their aces when complaints occur. Good for you in standing up to that treatment.

Motivation is when your dreams put on work clothes.

yes it is. their love stories are different, sometimes there is third party involved in a relationship, sometimes about loving a very fat women, usually a very tragic story when the one you love dies at the end, finding and losing the one you want to be with forever..really sad!

I noticed several times, the lack of intrest some employees in carefour have towards customers...

In my opinion, it reflects how they are treated by thier managers,

So maybe they are not well treated, which by the end of the day reflects back on the customer...

sounds logical ...yet does not solve the problem...

I also had a somewhat similar experience..and it really felt bad coz we're the paying customer and do not deserve this kind of treatment. I used to work for a bank and have always been courteous to my clients, and I expect to be treated the same way when I become the client.

Sadly, it happens very seldom here.
