We are moving from the Uk and have promised the kids a new wii when we move, are we best off buying it and the games in the UK or can we get it all easily in Doha? Thanks for your answers.
I had exactly the same dilema, but I worked out with the package deals you can get in GAME or HMV or similar shops, it is cheaper to buy it in the uk. This is what I did at christmas - i got mine chipped by a friend so you can play copied games, but apart from that, Qatar and Doha have the same region code so you wont have a problem. I would definitely buy it in the uk!
I find electrical goods here to be reasonably priced and it could save on your luggage/shipping allowance if you buy it here. Games are readily available, though often on the 'black/grey market'.

That would mean you have to buy all your games from the UK...
Or you can get a pre-modded one here, and it plays games from all regions as well as pirated games.
