Where to start?

Have searched for a slow-cooker (for soups, casseroles, etc) for 3 years. Too heavy to post.

Decent bras. Bendon is great, but stock is hopeless. M&S just don't make the grade. Not oo heavy to post!

Nice muesli (without added sugar or milk powder) supplies are sporadic.

Peanut butter without added sugar.

'nycouple' the 3-wholegrain variety of Cheerios is available now and again. Quite rare though unfortunately.

And I can't find Sriracha garlic chili sauce anywhere. Back home, this was available in every east asian, south asian and regular grocery store.

Anyone know of these items in Doha?

to be quite heavily perfumed, which is awful for allergies. I find it odd that they market it as a "sensitive" (for skin/allergies) product.

When I found the *truly* scent-free Tide at MegaMart, i purchased all twelve bottles of it. I spent a small fortune that day, but hopefully I won't need to purchase it for at least a year or so! If I can get my housemaid to MEASURE it rather than freely pour it, then it should last a while.

campbell - you can definitely buy bibles in Qatar. Virgin stocks them. I'm intrigued to know why you thought you couldn't?

And you can bring bibles into the country with you, as long as they're for your personal use and you aren't planning to distribute them.

ummjake - I think quite a few of the things you mentioned are available here, just not in the quantities you'd get back home. There are several craft shops and party shops that in my opinion adequately supply scrapbooking and birthday party supplies, and between the supermarkets and pet shops there's plenty of pet treats and toys. And there are so many shoe shops here that every taste is catered for - from plain jane to fancy dan!

The thing that annoys me more is when they do have something you like, and you buy it week in week out, then suddenly it disappears, never to return again!

Expat Sueño - M&S at Landmark do a "Sensitive" washing powder and softener. It's fragrance free on non-biological. Maybe that would do for what you need. We bought some ready to wash the baby clothes.

real vanilla, different kinds of chips for baking, drugstore brand make up (the kind you'd get in a Wal-Mart), decent shoes that aren't bedazzled or covered with crap, designer hair care products (Paul Mitchell, KMS, etc.), Cream of Wheat, Celestial Seasoning Teas, Packaged sauce/soup/gravy mixes, Altoids, sex toys (the Durex vibrating cock ring that tallg referred do just doesn't cut it, I'm afraid!), pre-cooked vacuum-packed bacon, Chinese hot mustard, over-the-counter medicines that I like from the States (Nyquil, Arthritis strength Tylenol, Excedrin Migraine, Visine allergy eye drops, etc.), BOOKS, cheap children's books and gifts, cheap but quality clothes, scrapbooking materials, birthday party supplies, anything holiday related, pet treats and toys and grooming/care supplies,...most you can order online if you have a credit card.

Every year it has gotten better here, but there is still a lot I can't find (consistently) in this country, which remains an annoyance.

Health products, good shoes... wheres a Whole Foods Market?

I think they would do well here.

But thank Goodness there is online shopping.

You can buy everything in Qatar if you buy online. The things that are prohibited are not very important. Who needs pork if you can have beef? Who needs guns if you can have a car?
