Tiffany an Co. (AKA Al Fardan Jewelry)
Just wanted to share our very disappointing experience with The "Tiffany & Co." at Villagio Mall. My wife received a silver necklace and pendant from a friend for her birthday, and after wearing it for only one day it turned black. We took it back to Tiffany's with the original receipt, explained that we would like to exchange it and pay the difference for a gold one, and were told it cannot be exchanged because it was bought more than a week before. We tried to explain again that it was a gift which my wife received only a couple of days before (my wife even produced her ID to prove it is her birthday - Happy 40th honey!) we got the usual shoulder shrug and the "those are the rules" line. He then suggested that my wife was lying and that she had been wearing for a lot longer. I then promised I would share my experience with all to see on the internet. This is the kind of underwhelming shopping experience we can all expect, when local businesses (Al Fardan) buy the rights to use high end brand names and then stock the shelves with goods of questionable quality and hire incompetent staff. I am willing to bet at a real Tiffany&Co. they would be glad to let you exchange your silver item in order to spend even more on a gold one. Anyway, sorry for the novel, but if I can prevent even one person from wasting their money there, then I will feel better.
I replace my Jewellery many times. It was in a good condition not used.
They may did not accept to return yours because it is used one and not new one.

Jewelry which your friend gave you. May be he was wearing after purchase. So instead of complain others better you check it with your friend. Sales staff when he sees the condition of jewelry may be realizes that using every day. Always before buying we have to check properly. Even if they exchange I am sure they will sell to other customer as new. That’s why many jeweler shops after purchase they never take back or exchange. It’s really good idea.may be in australia they exchange and sell second hand goods as new one.
Sometimes staff and high brands shops here do help some people when they exchange or even return something even though it was late for a return they would accept it. beleive me they dont do that in Europe even if you are late one minute with very good excuses also.
And i am very sure that they would take it back with its original color come on what do you expect them to do with it and who will buy if after it turned to black i guess u went to the sea with it in that day. its still tiffany&Co
why dont you make a complaint to the Tiffany HQ as well so that they know how their franchisees treat the customers.
Tiffany's in New York has a fabulous return policy, as they are looking to cultivate lifelong customers. Unfortunately, your remarks apply to many of the retailers who by franchise rights of Western companies--no where near the same customer service, return policies or guarantees of their equivalents in North America. This applies to many middle-end stores and box restaurants, too.
However, Al Fardan is typically a quality organization--certainly amongst the best in Qatar. Be sure to let someone higher up know about your experience.
I will add my bad experience to the list - they didn't want to provide any help, my issue was too hard and not part of their service. They always behaved like I was interrupting their lunch break or something!
I went to the Melbourne Australia store in June to get help with a broken earring, and they jumped at the chance to offer a replacement and were appalled at the service from over here. The customer service manager even came to me and offered his card and contact details if I ever have another problem. That is real Tiffany's service.
unfortunately i had 2 male staff, both same lousy dress code and attitude, not sure who the manager was.
better that you call the attention of the manager and not the sales staff only. the manager can give an abrupt decision rather than the sales staff.
i had also very bad experience with those arrogant want to be sales people at Tiffany at Villagio mall
so terrible arrogant, I will never go back there and spend my money
