As an ex-jag owner for some years (sold my last one prior to coming to Doha), the XF is a great machine but the roads in Qatar are nothing like those in the Uk or Europe. I considered buying one (new XF Sportbrake) when I got out here, but having seen the conditions and risks, I think I shall buy one before returning to the UK with the view to exporting it. Going for a fairly large 4x4 instead. It has the beefyness and a reasonable standard of luxury.
well i just called them now, i already made a test drive and now i was just informed of a new offer, the XF V8 has the same price of XF V6, i guess i will be heading to showroom now.
Service now comes with the package 5 year and it is done by Alfardan who also have BMW, Range Rover. Jag didn't build great models till lately. My relative got the new XJ in Qatar and he loves it - it has got the best ratings internationally.
One thing for sure XF ain't common so I'll stand from the crowd.
A recent "The Which?" survey showed the Audi A5 and the Jaguar XF, and the Alfa Romeo 159, among the least reliable list.
The biggest problem with new cars identified by the survey was electrical systems, which are supposedly meant to make cars more efficient, reliable and comfortable.
Anyways, i remember they have a very bad warranty package, insurance is high and service is bad. If you are going to spend that much money might as well go for something better...like a KIA :P

Congratulations.. Hope you enjoy the ride..

i got a good price on the XF 2012 V8 for 199,000 QR only and i was comparing with BMW, with this amount i cannot even buy a standard 6 cylinders.
so Jaguar will win :DDD
Nivine go for it,I have 3 Jaguars never had an issue in any of them. Al Fardan is offering a good package.....good luck its a lovely car

Air con of European cars are not as powerful as Japanese. Some engines overheat easily VW and my BMW - had to change my water pump once.
At 50 degrees Celsius sometimes my electronics in my Beemer go crazy - switching off the car does the trick.
Ultimately it comes down to personal choice - considering you are lookin at a Jag, you ain't looking for A - B transport.
Check out international reviews, take a test drive here and make a choice. I will be buying a XF soon

britexpat which salon car do you recommend ? and why can't a jag hold the climate conditions here?
It's an excellent car. Well worth the price. Al Fardan is a good dealer. However, the car is not really suited to the climate and conditions here.
nivine all new cars will be amazing :p what you are asking us is about the after sales and stuff.
did you have the chance to make a test drive for it?? i tested it and really it was amazing guys
LOL LP.
The service is miserable. They say you need to buy two Jaguars: one for the road to drive, and one in the garage for repair.
well smoke now you shocked me about the service :(
Nivine if thats your view then might as well go for it.
I haven't seen anyone in Qatar driving a Tesla electric car. That would be unique!!
really??? service is that bad ??? :S
Maybe today is a special day, smoke.
exactly this is why i wanna buy this car because it is unique and im not gonna see many people driving same as my car.
Anyways, i remember they have a very bad warranty package, insurance is high and service is bad. If you are going to spend that much money might as well go for something better...like a KIA :P
LP i saw 4 jags in my 10 years stay in Qatar...and i kid you not. :P
smoke, I saw one today.
If it was good you'd see many Jags on Qatar roads. That itself should give you an idea about it :P
What others think:

It looks beautiful.
