Why overseas shipping comes in separate peices ?

I have UK and USA addresses with Aramex. I ordered some DVD's from one of the merchants on Amazon.co.uk. The order was just one, but the DVD's came in separate packages and Aramex charged 41 QR each for every package. That is more than the price of the DVD ! I am a avid movie watcher and I am very disappointed. Any one has similar experience ?

My Amazon setting says 'group as least packages as possible'. I wrote to the merchant who shipped the DVD's. They say it is Amazon policy to send each peice separately so as to justify the local shipping charge !

I am not saying it is Aramex fault. But Aramex should have atleast a feature to group small packages into one and ship them once in a week or so. I have burnt my hand so far shipping small items from US and UK.

check your amazon settings, the explanation is there, you need to set it up to send in one package.. it is definitely not aramex fault
