Can anyone tell me how long are the waiting lists in schools??? . How long do the children have to wait on DESS waiting list??. just an idea would be good .Thanks.
Nationality is not an issue my son is british but my concern is that he has been offered a place at DMBS but he is also on the waiting list of DESS ... so if i say no to DMBS and go on to wait for DESS then i wonder how long will i have to wait!! .. my son is 3 at the moment and is going to a nursery.
The waiting list is very long. I enrolled my 2 children this time last year and my son was offered a place in year 1 sep just gone but my daughter has only just been offered a place for this sep coming in Reception, so she will have been out of school for 15 months in total!!!
To my knowledge, the first criterion for admission in DESS is neither first come first serves nor it is on the knowledge of the applicants. It is nationality of the applicant which matters most; they give first preference to British students only.
If anything is left out then other nationalities are considered, needless to mention that all other factors viz. entrance exam, waiting list etc are then applicable effectively.
The school fees at DESS are high, so the most important question is whether you can afford to pay so much for your child's education. As well as the fees, which go up as your child gets older, there are also "extras". Entry is not on a "first come, first served" basis, as the school has a waiting list. I doubt whether children who have been expelled or excluded from their previous school will be admitted at all. Threfore the previous answer was quite inaccurate.

One Major Criteria ..... "Nationality".

Hi,
I think they work in first comes first serves basis. The prriority is for the people who apply first and who are eligible to enter a school.
