and yes, for NITs in India, theres a scheme called DASA for NRI students, you are entitled for this scheme if you have studied abroad in the last 3 years, and u need to write SAT 2 in physics, maths n chemistry, a rank list s prepared based on the SAT2 scores of all those who hav applied, and if u hve good score, u can get into the NIT u like in the branch of engineeering u like!

1) If you want to get a seat in a state based engineering / medical college, you need to give an entrance exam per state. Check the above comment for a state basis.

to get a seat in IIT or REC (for engineering) you will need to give the JEE exam which has a standard format (you can see the iit jee website for more information).

similarly there is an all india entrance exam for medical as well.

check the respective websites for more information.

On the internet you will also find many a website who act as career Councillors and help you for a fee.

Yes, its possible.

Do a google search to find out the website of entrance commissioner of the particular states for which u want to apply. the rules vary with diff states, but they all require the marks transcript, nativity certificate et al. u can also check for CBSE entrance exam website to know abt all india engg/pre medical exams.

Goodluck!
