Anna Theresa wins Miss Photogenic in Miss U

Miss Philippines' Anna Theresa Licaros emerged victorious as she bagged the Miss Photogenic trophy in the Miss Universe 2007 pageant in Mexico City.

This is the third consecutive year and seventh time that the Philippines has won the Miss Photogenic award. In 1973, Margarita Moran was not only crowned as the Miss Universe, she was also voted Miss Photogenic. The special award, which used to be chosen by media personnel covering the event, is determined by Internet votes.

Anna Theresa Licaros described as a "real woman of substance" is both a summa cum laude and a law student. She was one of the top speakers in the First ASEAN Young Speakers' Forum in Jakarta in 2002, and also delivered the class' valedictory address and led around 4,000 graduates during the UP's 94th commencement exercises in 2005.

Riyo Mori of Japan was crowned as Miss Universe 2007. The runners-up are Natalia

Guimaraes of Brazil (1st runner-up), Ly Jonaitis of Venezuela (2nd runner-up), Honey Lee of Korea (3rd runner-up), and Rachel Smith of USA (4th runner-up).

Those who made it to the Top 10 were Miss Mexico, Miss Angola, Miss Tanzania, Miss Nicaragua, and Miss India. Included in the Top 15 were Miss Thailand, Miss Denmark, Miss Czech Republic, Miss Slovenia, and Miss Ukraine.

Other special awards were received by Miss China Ningning Zhang (Miss Congeniality), Miss Brazil Natalia Guimaraes (Best in Evening Gown), and Miss Japan Riyo Mori (Best in Swimsuit).
