Basic Arabic - Lesson 4.1 (Let’s Start Reading and Writing)
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
My apology for the long gap between these and previous lesson since my keyboard is not Arabic enabled and I don’t have a scanner to scan my samples so I end up taking samples thru the net.
Now we will start reading and writing Arabic words but let me show you first how each letter is written in the following form:
1. Standing alone.
2. As the first letter in a word.
3. Inside the word, between two other letters.
4. As the last letter in a word, joining to the letter in front.
Take note that out of 28 letters 6 letters never join to the succeeding letter, even when they are inside a word. The following letter will have to be written as if it was the first in a word:
'alif
dal
thal
ral
zhay
waw
Here are some examples and how it was written to form a word:
yawm
ummi
nasr
islam
matar
Next Lesson: Letters Ba (B), Ta (T), Kaf (K), and Meem (M).
