I know a lot of readers are respectable people, those with respectable jobs who are just trying to make an honest living. This article is dedicated to all of those who are in need of hearing some words of wisdom, those who, at times, feel weak and useless. I want you to read this whenever you feel that way. In case you didn’t know, this is Jason from Paranormalknowledge.com, the place on the Internet where you can find the knowledge to understand the secrets of life. I wrote this article on 6/16/2009 and no matter how much time passes, it will still be here, ready to give you some words of wisdom in your darkest hours.

I am going to describe to you the lives of three different men, and how they all connect with each other:

A) John: John is an honest, hard-working man. He lives what most people call an average life. Single, John has never found the “woman of his dreams” and is depressed due to it. He wakes up every morning, going through his normal routine and heads off to work. He works hard during the day, because he knows he has to in order to support himself. On the way to work, John glances at the newsstands and sees pictures of Jeremy all over the magazines and newspapers. John has that moment, like most average-men have, that desire to become rich and famous, thinking that he has missed out on life and in that one instant, considers himself a failure. He quickly ignores these thoughts, and continues his journey to work. After work, John goes on his long commute home, glancing at the same buildings and scenery he sees almost every day. He sees Jared with his wife and kids and becomes even more depressed, reminding him of his lack of a soul-partner. He makes it home, walks up to his front door, sighs, and enters. The rest of his night he spends trying to find enjoyment, whether it’s by the TV, the radio, or through reading.

B) Jeremy: Jeremy is what John calls “having it all”. He was raised in an upper-class family, and ever since the day he came onto his Earth, everything was handed to him. He has everything at his disposal, cars, money, houses, even women. Jeremy wakes up every morning, not knowing what he is going to do during the day. He has no need to work, his family is rich. He’s single, not because he can’t find the “woman of his dreams”, but because he knows he can’t trust any of the women he encounters every night. At times, Jeremy feels like a child and feels like he cannot take responsibility for his own actions, he doesn’t have to. He walks around in his estate, gets ready with the latest fashion and makes his way to his car. Jeremy drives top-of-the-line automobiles, little gifts from his family. Once he leaves the gates of his estate, his car is bombarded with reporters and media. Photograph after photograph is taken, with every news journalist wanting to speak to him. Jeremy has grew tired of all of this, and has a longing to escape. He makes his way past the reporters and heads for the side-streets. He passes down this one block and sees John walking home from work. Jeremy glances at John and wishes he was him, living an average life, with no problems and able to accept responsibility for his actions. Jeremy continues back to his fast-life, with that one thought stuck in his head. Later in the day, Jeremy stops to get something to drink and parks his car in front of a popular coffee shop. He is happy because no reporters have noticed him and sits down to enjoy his coffee. He glances over and sees Jared with his wife and kids, and becomes depressed with the thought of not having a soul-partner. He turns his depression into energy to get back in his car and take off, going back to his wild-lifestyle, a life of material.

C) Jared: Jared has lived an average-life just like John, but has found his “soul partner”. He fell in love with her at a young age. He knew he wanted to marry her, and he did. Things started off well, but as he had children and had more responsibilities, he has seen how difficult life can be. He realizes he has to work hard just to put food on the table for his family. He barely has a moment of relaxation, except for his commute home from work. He took his wife and kids out today to a coffee shop. He figured this would be a nice treat for the family. He comes home and has to worry about paying the bills, putting his children through school, and about the future of his family. He becomes greatly depressed by this, wondering why he has to work so hard in order to support his family. He turns on the television and sees Jeremy all over the news. He has that moment when he wishes he was him, having everything handed to him and not having a worry in the world. Jared can’t take it anymore and has to get out of the house. He shuts the door behind him and sees John walking home from work. Jared is curious and becomes jealous of John for an instant, because he appears to only be providing for himself and can escape whenever he wants to. Jared begins to have doubts about his marriage and feels like life can sometimes be so hard. He walks back into the house, turns on the TV, and enjoys every second he can until he has to return to all of his responsibilities, tackling each task, one at a time, until he makes his way to bed.

Those are the lives of three different men, each who have walked down a different path, and all jealous of each other. This is because each of them have something that the other wants. These stereotypes, believe it or not, fit the lives of a lot of men. So you are wondering why I took the time to explain all of this and I am going to sum it all up in one sentence, actually a quote:

“Our lives are like a candle in the wind.” – Carl Sandburg

We don’t know where life is going to take us, follow your heart, it will never lead you in the wrong direction. It will put you through hardship, but if you stick with it, you will achieve genuine happiness. Our lives are indeed like a candle in the wind, no matter who you are.
