CEBU PACIFIC AIR CARRIER PRACTICE DISCRIMINATION FOR A WHILE NOW!

Back in 2006 a letter was sent to the Ministry of Tourism of the Philippines regarding Cebu Pacific air carrier. Cebu Pacific have bad reputation back then and they continue to practice discrimination because they know they can get away with it....

To Ministry of Tourism:

Cebu Pacific Air ruin the reputation of tourism in the Philippines. I am
writing this letter to let you know what happened to us when we travel
with Cebu Pacific on our recent trip to the Philippines. We travel at
least 2-3 a year to visit our relatives and houses in the southern part of
the country. I have sending this email to all my friend to give
awareness about Cebu Pacific and advised them not to take Cebu Pacific
when planning their vacation anywhere in the
Philippines and International destinations. My family and I went to the
Philippines two weeks ago. We purchased 3 round trip tickets from them
thru online booking (www.cebupacificair.com). The website is very
deceiving and not very user friendly. Their flights are always delayed by
at least 3 hours if not more and they are not notifying the
customer/passengers of the delays.

On August 6th going to Davao, we were told that the flight to Davao would
be delayed for 30 minutes. That went on for 4 hours and they are not
informing people in the domestic waiting areas until we got crowded and
some passengers are wondering why the plane is not there yet. One
frequent passenger finally drained his patience and was very upset,
demanded a refund and wanted to talk to the Operation Manager. He almost
punched the duty manager who keep on saying there is nothing he can do
about the delayed flights. Also he is making up unreasonable alibi for the
company saying 2 airplanes had mechanical problems, no runways
available, airplanes from Hongkong were delayed & etc... etc. And he also
tried to use turbulence excuses but then we noticed the other airlines are
on time like PAL, Asian Spirits and other small-operated airlines that
travels to and from Boracay, Palawan and other cities. Well, another
passenger challenged and asked the manager saying what is his or the
management's reason now about their delayed flights in the past 2 months
and with no compensation (lunches and or snacks) for the passengers who
are waiting patiently? He did not say much and left the departure lobby.
Customers are very angry and said, they would not purchase or buy cebu
pacific air ticket anymore.

After two weeks of our vacation and when it is time to go back to Manila.
The same thing happened with our return flight--3 1/2 hours delayed and if
you happen to have international connecting flight?, you would never make
it. We did not reach Manila until almost midnight and was very tired and
exhausted. Cebu Pacific used to be on time when it comes to departing
anywhere in the Philippines before but not anymore this time and they're
getting worst.

Well, my ugly story did not end there. The date of departure was wrong in
our e-ticket that was a print out from their website or from booking
online. We called and tried to correct it. Well, the Manila reservation
office informed us that, they need to cancel the wrong date but they will
charge us with cancellation, penalty and upgrade fees. I asked why, and
they said, it is their policy. I said, it was not our fault and that I am
not canceling nor upgrading my seat. I do not know what they meant by
upgrade since they do not have first class seat on A320 airbus to Davao.

Well, they charge us anyways and the amount was unbelievable! I was
advised from the Cebu Reservation office that we would only pay, 112 pesos
each of us plus the price of ticket 4,671.52 pesos. We end up paying a
total of 3,860 pesos extra besides the 4,671.52 pesos each (3 of us) on
the time of departure. We were ready to dispute the amount and we argued
the amount with the Davao reservation office by the airport counter but it
did not help us any good because the reservation office in Davao would
only tell us, we need to contact the Manila reservation office when we get
to Manila because they cannot do anything about it. So, when you are in
a hurry and you're trying to catch your connecting flight to the US the
next morning, you alternative choice would be to pay and that's what we
did because we do not have time.

We learn our lessons and we will not use nor fly Cebu Pacific Air anymore
from now on. Please be aware that this modus operandi (delayed flights
and trying to deceive customers with cheap fares and unbeatable promotions
are not true and it could ruin your vacation or worst, could turn into
disaster trip, anger and disappointment. Do not use Cebu Pacific Air
--It's bad for Tourism's reputation.

Please forward this email to those who travel frequently like us.

Sincerely,
Mr. & Mrs. Clark
