A Filipina maid in the United Arab Emirates faced a Dubai court Wednesday for having sex with her Indian boyfriend in the house of her employer.
The maid and her boyfriend, a driver, both faced the court on charges of consensual sex, according to a report posted Thursday on news site Gulf News.
Gulf News reported the maid faced an additional charge of trespassing, since she illegally let the Indian, a driver, into her employer's house.
Both defendants earlier pleaded guilty to charges of consensual sex during prosecution investigations.
Making matters even more complicated, both the maid and her boyfriend were already married when they entered into their relationship.
The Gulf News report said the Filipina begged the authorities for forgiveness, saying she regretted her action and wanted them to treat her with mercy since she is a married woman.
A final verdict is expected on September 15.
Indian's confession
The Indian driver confessed to authorities that he had been in a relationship with the Filipina for two years.
He told officers at Al Muraqqabat police station that he received a call from the maid asking him to go to her employer's house in Al Mamzar.
He said he rushed to the rendezvous site driving one of his employer's cars.
"I waited a while outside the house before she signaled that it was okay to let me in, after making sure everyone in the house was asleep," he said.
The Filipina then escorted him to the living room and sat him down on the sofa.
"She was wearing a black nightgown. She kissed me on the mouth, took off her clothes and then mine, and then we were having sex," he was quoted as telling authorities.
But the two did not expect the Filipina's employer, an account manager, to accidentally walk in on their tryst.
The employer said that when he returned home, he found the living room door locked, and decided to climb into the house through the living room window.
"It was dark. When I switched on the light, I found a man completely naked lying on my sofa with our helper," he said.
He said the Indian driver jumped up and put on his clothes, and ran off. The employer then called police to report the incident. — LBG, GMA News
