pinays and other nationalities...

Hello mga kabayan! This is my first post here, I've given a few responses before though. I just want to hear from you something about relationships. Inspired by the earlier post about being proud to be a Filipina.

Personally, I'm getting married with another nationality, yes, he's arabic but not Qatari (will withhold the nationality para exciting) ok :) Maybe I'm just new at this, pero sometimes when we are in a public area like a coffee shop, people will stare at you. Alam nyo po yung look that makes you feel "why is she with that guy" or "another filipina with a foreign national...". Sadly, I would get it not only other nationalities but filipinos as well. Like the last time we had dinner, there were 2 filipinas staring at us throughout the whole dinner. Syempre sa pinas, pwede tayo makipagdiskusyunan sa kanila, pero this isn't our country kaya I did not choose to confront. Also, if we are in the car, imagine you will still get stares from other drivers. Bad image lang ba talaga ang filipina and foreigner combined? Do they just think we are after the money?

I realized Qatar is just meant for work. And if you have a private life you have to keep it very, very private.

Maybe there are other kabayans in this group that have been or are in the same situation. Anyone out there with a non-pinoy bf? What have you experienced and any advice?

Thanks in advance to your responses. God bless.
