New Zealand Tragedy: A Muslim’s Last Words
There was much chaos during the cruel incident that took place yesterday in Christchurch. However, within the chaos, there was one single incident that stood out from all that was taking place. They were words from the first Muslim man to die.
This Muslim man had a gun pointed at him and he knew the clearly the intentions of the man pointing the gun. How did this person respond in the face of imminent death at the hands of a terrorist? No, he did not curse or insult. He did not show anger or aggression. He did not use threats or abusive language.
He greeted his killer with the most sincere and gentle greeting, “HELLO BROTHER.”
These words were uttered by a man who reflected the true spirit of Islam. In the face of death at the hands of a terrorist, he showed peacefulness and kindness --- that is Islam.
Imagine the pain of that mother who sent her 6 year old son to the Mosque but he never came back? The daughter whose father went that day but didnot return alive. May God grant them eternal peace. We are thousands of miles away, and strangers, yet our hearts bleed. Imagine them?
Our hearts are in pain and eyes filled with tears for you . You been killed only because you accepted Allah as your lord . May Allah forgive your sins and grant paradise.
