ADVICE ON COST OF LIVING IN DOHA
HELLO, I HAVE BEEN OFFERED A JOB AT RASGAS AND NEED TO KNOW WHAT WOULD IT COST FOR ME TO LIVE COMFORTABLY IN DOHA. JUST A ROUGH ESTIMATE WITHOUT THE COST OF HOUSING. COST OF FOOD, ENTERTAINMENT, WATER AND ELECTRICITY, CELLPHONE COSTS AND MAYBE A SECOND HAND CAR.ANY ADVICE WILL BE APPRECIATED.

Flat Rental might cost QR 3000 per month. You can find a same sex person to live with to share the rental payment with you.
Water & electracity might cost QR 500 per month
No need for home phone.
No need for internet accesss inside house.
Filling the tank of a private automobile with petrol might cost QR 40 per 3 days.
Checking the car in the Technical Inspection unit might cost QR 200 per year.
Registering the car in the Traffic Department of the Ministry of the Interior Affairs might cost QR 70(using electronic card)per year.
Buying insurance for yor car might cost you QR 3500 per year.
Is this with the cost of housing or not?
Is the amount you have mentioned is inclusive accommodation or not?
QAR 10 to 15k, can give you pretty nice and comfort life here without saving.

Des - read through all the threads on this Forum. You will be amazed at the wealth of information that has been given to people asking the same questions that you have. There is a good search function on the page and ALL the information that you need is on teh Forum. I have literally spent days reading through everything and was amazed at the information that I found.
