Alibaba Website - Any Comments

I was searching for some spare parts for my car, and found the same online in a website "based in China" called "alibaba.com":

- anybody heard of the same?
- anybody ordered anything from them?
- they said that they will send the parts by DHL but they want the payment in advance, can I trust them?
any comments on this subject will be appreciated?

Thanks

it is a supplier registered in alibaba and they mentioned that they are gold supplier in alibaba since 3 years, but i don't know the truth coz i don't know if alibaba itself is trusted or not.

Are you buying the part from Alibaba OR from some supplier registered on Alibaba??

use an esquire payment system.. you will pay in advance but payment will be held until you confirm the delivery.

i tried alibaba 3x before and there was no problem.. i got the package on time (via aramex).

I heard that to use ebay i should have Aramex account in USA, also ebay price for the requested part (air shock absorber) is $650/pc whereas i got a quote through alibaba for $460/pc

I have found that they don't respond to emails and seem to be focused on very big businesses wanting to set up large export details. my advice is that if you want to do business in China you need an agent that you can trust in China. I would steer well away from ordering anything on the web from China.
