Dear everyone,
We are a group of students at the Weill Cornell Medical College, conducting a research about traffic accidents in Qatar. Please if you are a driver in Qatar, help us through filling this online survey. It won't take more than 2-3 minutes of your time. It would really help us in our research.
Thank you very much!!

ashwindoke, the number of years baldrick has had his/her licence, does not necessrily add up to age.

He/She may have had their UK licence for 28 years, but obtained their Kuwait licence 22 years into that. Just because you obtain a new licence, does not mean you relinquish your old one.

Addressing one of Oryx's points that it is unprofessional not to state what the research will be used for, it is a little inaccurate. Most psychological studies rely on the participant not knowing what the research is for, to obtain unbaised results. For all you know, this particular study could be an analysis of responses to badly formed questionnaires on public forums :P

B2D.... Control... are you really sure about the numbers???

This would make you very old.... you are driving for 28 + 6 + 8 yrs... outside Qatar.. considering 1 yr here..

it is 45 in total... + 18 minimum age to hold a license..

(in India it is should be in UK too)

That means you are 63????

Correct me.... Waiting to be proves wrong.....

OK here goes:

1. I'm not going to tell you how much I earn - why is that relevent to a traffic survey.

2. How long have you had your Qatar license - irrelevent - I've had a UK license 28 years! also held a Kuwait License for 6 years and a Saudi License for 8.

Yep if would make me happy if you turned your 'professor's' crappiness around into a learning experience.....

Sorry no excuse...plenty of people can help or easy peasy just plagarise categories from somewhere else.

Well let me give you comfort in another way

You can learn and promise that you will never be so crappy when you get your degree.

I have learnt some great lessons from other people's awfulness....vowed 'I will never ever do that'

yeah I agree. but his English isn't that great, and this is what he has given us, and we cant really make big changes.

this cannot be a real professor RA

the questions are too crappy they are slack and erroneous.

and please show him my post..... PLEASE - is this the education you are getting at Cornell?

if the questions/categories are crappy then the results wont be valid so it makes research a waste of time all round. So the statistical analysis is a waste of time.

I hope you understand my point.

I love carrying out research its fun and you learn a lot.

You need to add "none of the above"... I do not fit into one of the profession categories you have written.

And your salary is not listed as monthly or yearly... This is Doha, one man's monthly salary is an other man's annual. Sad, but true.

this survey was designed by our professor and his team in turkey, so i know that some answers dont make a lot of sense, but all what we students have to do is collect the responses and submit them to our professor, who will in turn make the necessary statistical analysis.

OK did someone check your questions ?

a) One option is 'illiterate' well if they are they can't answer a questionnaire can they nor would it be legal for them to drive.

b) Professional/Sedentary - are not synoyms

many professionals have active jobs....

c) Infact the jobs section is poor... business MAN - what about woman? the categories dont cover enough or overlap

check other questionnaires to find job cateogries...

If the questions are not spot on then your results will be disorted which undermines the validity of the findings...which means the results are worth toss.

Come on it looks like a 14year old high school kid wrote it not a uni student.

No need to post something three times.....

If you are carrying out research you need to state what the research will be used for

that is a basic rule - and it is unprofessional not to do so.

I say this nicely and if your tutor hasn't said this he/she needs to get his backside kicked.
