Hi,

Can anyone advice me if its possible for me to simply convert my Canadian driving license to a qatari license? Or do i have to go through the rigorous cycle of taking lessons and then giving a driving exam?

Your help is much appreciated.

yeah, do not forget your international driver licence from Canada, which will be valid for 3 months, because you won't be able to change your licence until you get your residence, which might take 1-2 months...and no need any driving test, just come to the Traffic Dptm, spend there 15-20 minutes and you are done...

Its not expensive, very true. But the lines and wrong windows you will be redirected 3 or4 times. In one way its entertaining but honestly have company take you there and you just follow and sign where they tell you. It will save so much frustration. Plus get an international driver lisence for about 20$ a motor vechiles in Canada and you can rent a car for a month if thats a need. Plus rent right when you get off the plane. If I could tell you how many people say,' I wish I rented a car right away'.

I made Qatari lisence from USA one. Go to Traffic department. You will find people out there who help the entire changing process with a small payment. Its basically filling up a form, do eye test. They need ur ID copy, Canadian lisence copy, and Three copy of photograph and QR 155 .

Hope that helps
