Bus Service to UAE?
Hi All!
Just wondering if there are any bus or transportation services available to UAE? I have been searching for a while with nothing to find. Only option so far is with SAPTCO (saudi transportation) which would go all the way to khobar in the eastern region of saudi, before continuing to UAE..
Main reason am prefering the land route is due to a heck of a lot of baggage that I need to transport with me, and would rather not pay it as excess luggage at the airport. Any ideas would really be appreciated ;)

heh if I had my own car this wouldn't be an issue :P I've made the drive from Khobar (roughly 8 hours) a couple times so I'm familiar with the road.

We have sent unaccompanied baggage (to the UK) twice from Qatar and it's much cheaper than accompanied baggage.
We didn't even have to fly the same airline as the baggage.
The second time and unknown to us, the items were on the same flight as we were.
I assume the same would apply between Qatar and the UAE.
We also sent furniture and other effects by road from Abu Dhabi to Qatar at a very economical rate and have used GAC to move large items from Qatar to the UK with no problems
It is better you take or travel by your own car it is only about 700 KM

You can use something like cargo services and you can pick it up at UAE airport. It's cheaper that way (per kilo is $6, where the airport charges you up to $25). I don't know what we have here in Qatar, but before coming here from Australia I used this one service called Jetta Express. Hope this helps :)
