Car Accident

I had a car accident a couple of weeks ago. The driver had to admit it was his mistake and we went to the police. His Qatari sponsor agreed to pay the damage since the car was NOT insured, but now will only agree if I take my car to HIS garage. Although I went and got 2 quotes, the traffic police say that I should take it to his garage!!?? Is this comflict of interest or not? Does HE have the right to deny payment? When I said that I would like to go to court, I ve been advised that he is a Bedouin (?) and I will never see my money. Are Bedouind above the law? Does anyone have any advice?

Ok, the Bedouin are the most senior tribe here in Qatar. The history of Qatar and the royal family here come from Bedouin roots. this means that they may not be above the law, but they are able to bend it quite easily.

Here it is all about who you and your sponsor knows. If your sponsor can speak with him, this would be the best option you have. It is best you just take it to his Shop to save the hassel but when in Doubt, ask your sponsor to help. That is what they are there for.

It sucks i know as i have been in bad situations like this myself and the only wayi have fixed it is to Get a Qatari i know to speak with the other Qatari otherwise you really don't have a hope in hell.
