Car Fight at Al-Hilal round-about road

Today around 7:45 evening, there was a Car fight on the roads between Al-Hilal & DMac roundabouts (Near Lullu Hyper Markets).

There was a SUV coming out of slip lane in a very fast speed was chased by another SUV at even higher speed. The 2nd SUVdeliberately hit the first one on road... the back side of first car was totally meshed.. still the driver ran like crazy... hetook his car over the High Divider (With herbs / plants) between the road and ran away towards other side... the driver enetered into the streets of other side... HORIZONTALLY Crossing both sides of thebusy roda.

The chasing car also did same... after about 40 - 50 second... 3-4 more cars came following the earlier ones. Every one was driving like crazy... Blowing high horns on the road... cutting the traffic horizontally... driving on the pavements... It was a total mess & Chaos on the road.

It seems Those drivers were after 1st SUV driver's life.. and now GOD only knows what would have happened to him. I saw some street walkers calling the Police at that time... we may get some news in tomorrows newspapers.

As all this was happening... one guy was chased fanatically into mid of the city... and all traffic rules were broken, we could not see any Policeman anywhere on the road.. or near to that area.

It is always claimed that Qatar is a safe place and Doha is one of the safest city... but is this a sign of Law abiding city ???

haven't changed in Wukair.

In the late 70's early 80's it (allegedly) wasn't considered unusual to be shot at on that road.

the road does lead to sealine in the end, if you take the road to mesaieed from the r/a near wukair.

andrew11121 ...you made me pass wind...

Gosh ...what are they looking for A Rambo? To pick a fight with?

2 places to keep out of :

1. Wukair ( or anything that rhymes with "air" , dont want to take a chance)

2. Madinat Kabiat ( or anything that rhymes with Madinat "Kabi" , dont want to take a chance)

Got to the link below and you'll see a map centred on Al Wukair;

google maps - al wukair

Al Wakra is to the East, Doha north, Messaied south.

I was told by a Qatari who lives in Al Wakrah to never, ever drive unaccompanied in Wukair, as the locals will probably come out and hassle you.

Which is preferable to what he said would happen if I drove alone into Madinat Kabiat, which is in the north near Al Shamal.  In his estimation I was likely to be shot if I went anywhere near that place as a white foreigner.

You get to Wukair by basically turning right at Al Wakra. It's on the long road between Al Wakra and th Singing Sandunes (which are on the road between Salwa Road and Messaied (sp?).

There was no incident! It was just a dry run practice for Qatar GP Street Party. They are practicing for the upcoming race on 4th. March. Vroom Vroom.

I live in the Lulu area and heard, what I presumed was, a police car's siren nuts around the roads near here at about the time puneetpareek is talking about.

I was in the middle of doing something so didn't go out to see what was going on - I'm not sure if ambulances have same siren so I assumed it was a police car.

Perhaps this incident was the reason.

the place is called wukair.

If u drive down the wakra health centre, u reach this place. it is actually the middle of nowhere and i think if you drive through, u reach some roundabout and from there, you turn left and can also reach mesaieed beach or take a right and u reach salwa road.

there are some really grand houses in there and wonder if anybody lives there on a permanent basis.

How do i know all this? i used to live near the health centre and had many long drives down this road.. it used to be a lonely stretch of road with the occasional car driving up or down.

any more news on the car fight? forget about it being reported in any of the newspapers. they have much more important news to publish like daily bombings. weather reports, deaths in each country, fed rate cuts, sport updates,etc.etc..

i remembered few years back during Ramadhan there was a BMW clashed with land cruiser. The driver in the land cruiser that wearing a white thobe came out and beat the BMW driver up on the middle roundabout.

and the guy walked back to the car came out with something that looks like a baseball bat. No idea what happened next ... but nothing came up in the paper the next day.
