Cesarean Costs

As-Salamu Alaykum,

I am currently pregnant (due March 2014) and would like to know if anyone has info about costs of cesarean section in Qatar.

I'm in the process of obtaining residency and will be acquiring a Hamad Medical card once it gets approved.... My husband was recently told by a friend (whose wife works as a nurse at Hamad) that if I have the card, my cesarean procedure will be free and we will only have to pay for the room charges while I stay and recover. I just wanted to confirm if anyone knows this to be true.

If someone can clarify or give me links/phone numbers to places that I can contact for more information, it would be greatly appreciated. :)

I was already advised by my doctor not to have natural birth and also not to have any more children after this one.... this will be my third cesarean, given the fact that I've already had two - forcing me to try natural birth is a risk on my life. They can't do that.

hi..hamad hospital is not favour for caesarian delivery,my wife is experienced in that.if your first delivery is caesarian also they will try normal.the indication of caesarian is placenta previa, small pelvis, big baby..etc....so first they will see the indication for caesarian.if not they will try only normal.private hospital will do caesarian with out any problem but cost will be high.so be alert......

I would agree with dhawood bhai he can be with you after delivery 1-2 hrs and can see the child immediatly and later join you at the normal ward room full time during morning hours except night not allowed and better keep with you your sister in law to care for you and your baby at the hospital

Hi, my wife gave birth at HAMAD 2 month back, Husband are not allowed not only in the delivery room also to be with you your normal regular check up. but you can keep your sister in law with , it is ok. after delivery , if you are normal they will shift you to the ward around with in 2 - 3 Hrs, then your husband can see and be with you (until night 12 AM) till you discharge.

So dont worry, they will take care of you...

Thank you for your reply.... now I know that husbands aren't allowed to be in the delivery room, but do you know if my husband will be allowed to see us after the procedure is finished? I do plan to have my sister in law with me so I won't be alone, but I would ideally like it if my husband could come in afterward as well. :)
