i never been in chowking coz i don't want to waste my time waiting for long Q and poor service, there are lots of resto better than chowking and in fact, they don't have the tase of original chowking in the philippines.
DON'T LET FANTASY ROB YOU OF YOUR REAL LIFE BEAUTY
chowking restaurant is owned by filipino-chinese business man.
FYI: Philippines is not a communist government but a republic forms government. however, when it comes to business mostly owned by foreigners. why? because they have money to establish business.
The owners know the problems, and are taking steps to improve the service, they did not realize the amount of traffic they would get, It will get better I promise.
and told his opinion which I also support. The result was that all pinoys were fighting with him in other threads as well, deleting his comments from thier group threads and they banned him from QL at the end.
This was his comment which I just found and I know him personally:
and pinoys were fighting with him and even banned him because he said his opinion
al31ex31 said My opinion ...
I never ate there in the subject matter restaurant, but i will tell my opinion only which is: the taste of the food in same chain of restaurants differ from region to another.
For example, BigMac meal in Mcdonalds-Paris for instance tastes very different from BigMac meal in Qatar. Same thing applies to other restaurant chains for some reasons such as:
1- In non-muslim countries: pork oil and fat contributes in almost everything. They even fry the chicken and potato in pork oil/fat. This will differintiate the taste too much than if regular corn oil is used in cooking.
2- Exotic vegatables and foods in general are much more expensive in Qatar than in thier country of origin and this will reflect on the price and/or the quantity used in each meal here in Qatar. IF 1 kilo of X vegatable is 20 peso in Manila while it will cost them 400 peso in Qatar, then they would most probably lessen the quantity of X, or use other cheaper X from other countries, or even use something else to replace it.
3- The meat itself taste much different in Qatar than somewhere else. I guess you noticed the difference between Qatari or imported beef and local filipino beef.
This will ofcourse affect the taste as well.
4- Unsatisfied employees will result in less quality of work. You know that the secret in cooking is the comfort, excitment, and happiness. To make it short, if you have a good mood, your meal will most probably taste better than if you are pissed off and forced to cook.
Now, do you think the staff in most of restaurants here are well paid and satisfied with thier jobs?? or they really hate and regret working in thier current jobs?
subject was the location of chowking, no need to degrade their service; food is great and the service was good when we had our lunch there and stop comparing it to restaurants that have been here way before chowking started its operation, common sense!!!!!!!
"ButI bet most of you will go back again. bet you.. there cant be that many people visiting it for the first time.. AGREE"
Jackfrost, oh really now. Lets say a thousand filipinos visit the place in a day, that's 30T in a month. The place has been open now for almost a month. How many filipinos do you think is now in Qatar? You still want a bet?
Jackfrost...you should watch your language and Think before doing things...we are all just disappointed because Chowking in the Phils. is far better than here with regards to the space and set up. Most Pinoys just missed the taste thats why they still persevere and still giving it a shot. Using strong words like stupidity just tells us that you are like one....Make your flag proud of you by being responsible samaritan...etc..etc...
But hey...try it and you'll know the answer. We just forgave the poor Chowking staff for their poor management plans.
food is generally poor, photos of their plates are misleading, they show varaiety of ingredients on the photo, but disappointing reality in the plates:S
I understand the customer service is not great, but is the food good here? Or not as good as the Phillipines? I'm always on the look out for good places to eat.
*****If you haven't got anything nice to say, don't say anything at all*****
I can say, these hassles are due to poor anticipations from the management...they didn't realize that they will be overwhelmed by 200,000 +- Filipinos who missed Chowking in the Phils. chowking in the Phils. is not as bad as here. Poor planning from management here in Qatar and unreasonable spaces and set up.
Yes, a lot of rooms for improvement should be done ASAP!!! We're hungry!!!
at 8:45 pm and was excited to try thier food after all the comments and fights that were going on here prior its opening.
It was over crowded, too nosiy, left overs were on the tables, mass everywhere, and at the end I had to go all over downstairs to give my order when i was told that I can have only pancit because they close after one hour and 10 minutes:)
I suggest them to hire two cleaners. One upstairs and one downstairs who will only clean the mass and left overs on tables.
I also recommend them to extend thier opening hours just like the rest or restaurants in Doha even if it will cost them more 4 new staff. I think the reason why it closes at 10 is that they have only one shift straight from 12 noon to 10 pm (10 hrs) and dont want to hire more staff.
One more thing, they better give customer service and hospitality training sessions to thier staff.
By the way, Is it true that the owner is a Palestinian guy with his Filipina wife?
they let people wait outside when there are plenty of tables and seats inside, now how the hell did they come up with that... talk about crap service.. they should make room for improvement..
they have the worst of everything, they let clients stand in the street at queues to take the client's order at the street, pay first then sit down...??? what is that, middle ages restaurant...!!!
But honestly they have clean delicious food, with so reasonable prices, but alot of items were missing..
May be its changed now as I went third day of thier openings
yet another.... it's beside the Jaguar showroom back of Ramada Hotel.. if you're planning to go there, don't expect too much as far as customer service is concerned, they still have a looooooooong way to go..
