Coming to Qatar - Help!!!
Hello Expats and Greetings from a cold, damp Essex in the UK!
I spent last Sunday in Doha having been invited for a job interview. Looks like the family will be joining you in February next year! A previous post I read in QL mentioned about the place being a building site - they weren't wrong either but still seems like a really nice place to live. My wife and I have hundreds of questions about our future life in the Gulf but as this is my first post, I shall keep it brief to make sure that it goes OK.
Can any of you kind folks who moved from the UK recommend an international removals company and let me know your experience and details of costs etc? We don't have much to ship but I think it would be nice to have familiar things around us to ease the transition.
Secondly, we have a concern that our daughter (3 years old in August just gone) may not be accepted at school because she has not had immunisations for the usual childhood illnesses. We have chosed instead to have her treated homeopathically. We have read that homeopathic medicines and treatments maybe frowned upon there but does anyone have experience of homeopathy and/or of kids being precluded from joining schools in the absence of immunisations?
That's it for now. I would welcome any response to my 1st post and look forward to meeting you all in the New Year.
Best regards to all,
Steve
