are you living alone? or with family and kid?

what's your budget?

how many years you consider living here?

do you prefer outlook of car over stength?

would you be able to afford more than one car in doha in few years?

do you have any plan to sale it in few years and to buy another?

u need to calculate whats the resale value means? toyota is the worst after service quality comparing with othr cars. u need to leave ur car days only for reglr serv. u need to wait svrl motnhs for body repair. did u comprehansively calculate this as ur resale value? year? milage? owner habbits backgrd? the parts cheaper than honda huh? no need to think this if u purch new car, some of dealer warant up 5yrs/60km. i dont want to talk about china low quality aftermrkt toyota parts. do u want to walk everywhere around doha city w/o car? honda is much better than toyota. what u pay is what u get!

Less maintenance

Less cost of spare part and service.

good resale value.

When compared with Corolla, Civic is having better value for money. More features, latest technology, refined audio system, Very good ambience, etc. Regarding resale value, may be a couple of thousand riyals less than a contemporary Corolla sells. We can very well forego that money for what we are getting in return in Civic. If you drive it for 4 years or more, definetely the resale value is more or less same.

When compared in after sales service, Toyota really sucks, where as Honda is a winner. For toyota one need to wait for longer time even to get an appointment. In Honda, you can get it done in no time. Honda dealer Domasco is doing a great job. They have few quick service stations for minor jobs like oil change. Within two hours, you can get it done in such service stations.

In case of accident vehicle, repair works are done faster in Honda Body shop where as in Toyota you need to forget about your car for months.

Cost of spare parts: One need to bother about this only when a car needs replacement of spares very frequently. I have driven 3 Honda cars for the last 10 years and I seldom changed any vital parts of the car. Break shoes/pads replacement and regular oil change are the only activities I did for all the three cars so far. Each car did over 100000km and there was no problem. Hence, go for a honda car.

I would advise, buying a Honda Car, as I own one, but service and after sales point of view I have got opinion from many saying toyota is much better and I accept it, coz honda servicing is too costly compared to toyota, which is like peanuts.

Well, the performance, looks and after sale service is better with Honda, I bought a new Accord just 6 months back and I'm 100% satisfied but yaa resale of the Toyata is a bit better than Honda...

The choice is yours..

Go for what you like ... not for what others like.

Buying a car is one of the most important decisions. So dude, buy the car which you personally like, evaluate yourself, and buy the the one you like, not the one others like. Buying a car is all about satisfaction, so if after buying a 70K car if you are not satisfied, than to hell with all others. So thats why, I bought a Honda Civic 08, because I hate Corolla, its so ugly and is not even comfortable. When I drove a 08 model corolls, I felt like driving a very small vehicle, poor interior. Civc interior is one of the best, it can even compete with interiors of Cammary and others in its class.

So in the end, I will again say, buy what you like and what you think will satisfy you.

Hi,

I was in the same situation and ended up buying Civic.

My drive for the decision was the look of the car:)

Civic looks much cooler than Corolla.

And I am very very happy with it, runs very smoothly. Plus if u buy it from Domasco u have life time warranty so no worries on parts being cheap or expensive...

Sure Toyotas are very good too, but here for re-sale value Civic is better than Corolla. Toyota is a better brand when compared in SUVs or Camry vs. Accord (though new model of accord looks cool too).

Civic is cheaper too. I bought 08 for 62k automatic. I think Corolla is round 70k...

I liked the new Civic more than the new [ugly shape] of corolla. Toyota and Honda got a good resale value in the market, the different in the parts is not that much ... I got for my father 2004 corolla the break pads original for 180 while for the Civic is 220. The Honda parts last more than the Toyota and that is why they are a little more expensive ....

The new corolla is like 60+ and the civic is in the same range too. I drove the 2007 Honda civic model car and i like it. Don't know about the after sale service, but what i know is Toyota service center is always busy and takes a lot of time to fix anything even changing the engine oil ... Never tried Honda service center and don't want to ever need that :)

in my opinion toyota scores over honda for the following reasons...

1 Better re-sale value

2 honda spare parts are much more expensive.

That said though the after sales  of toyota absolutely sucks... so youll have to decide.

If it was me i would go for the corolla
