Doha Bank refuses to accept 50/100 Notes!!!
Hi.. I would like to share my unfair and illogic customer service experience that I had with Doha Bank, Lulu D-Ring Road Branch, I was in Doha Bank on last Saturday, 21 Mar 2015 around 8.15pm to deposit QR. 28,000, my money bundle was contained 24 notes of 500 and rest was 50 and 100 notes. When I reached the counter, he looked at me and my cash bundle, then directly the Cashier told me that he can’t accept this cash bundle and he accept only 500 notes! Since it was very urgent for me to deposit, I have requested him several times, but, he totally ignored me and refused without any specific reason, then I have requested him to give me in written that he can’t accept it, but he was not ready to do so and he told me that "go to lulu cashier and get it exchanged to 500 notes then come back to me", I was really surprised with his solution! Moreover, he was challenging me to raise a complaint against him if I have any problem. Finally, I was helpless, so, I followed his instruction and went to Lulu Money Exchange and converted all 50 and 100 notes to 500. Then, I approached him again and he accepted my deposit. I was totally surprised with his approach as he was very adamant in dealing with me and other customers too!!! Now, I have discussed this issue with The Consumer Protection under Ministry of Business and Qatar Central Bank and waiting for their appropriate action. While discussing with concerned authorities, I have re-confirmed that ‘NO BANK CAN REFUSE ANY CURRENCY’. Please be aware of it. Thanks a lot for reading… Good luck to all…
I'm totally sick of DB's customer service now. They could not do their job properly and they indeed present you with stupid and illogical reasons. I have so many bad experiences with them I could not put it all into writing. Anyways, kudos to you for complaining to the authorities. I hope they do something about it.
Totally ludicrous! Any legal tender should be accepted by banks for deposit....even if they were QR1 or QR 5 notes.
The guy was a moron and you should complain to the bank.

if we want to understand this behavior , this guy believe that he belong to higher rank , perhaps because of his passport or because he has a bigger salary than you , so he think he has the right to treat you as a TEA BOY.

wow... talk about very bad customer service... I salute QNB for providing good service..
ooh..... keep away from them and consider it as a business group without a customer service, with god's grace i am far away from Doha Bank and very happy with QNB......
