MM: I'm afraid to ask , but are you suggesting that one should be allowed to drink and drive ?

A man should be able to live without that plastic card & that bitter drink in this world ........... but the difficulty is the society which has accepted drinking / driving as being social & civil so when the poor souls try to come up to the society's standards they are hurt badly ............... we put them behind bars & send them off our soil or fine them heavily ............... Is the modern man so weak that he can't be developed to behave / drive normally after drinking ? We are okay to smoke tobacco & drive. We are okay drive while we back-bite ............ we have different standards really ......................

zesca: Did he finally give up drinking and become a "better" man? Three months in jail without a sip of booze would have definitely sobered him up.

Same thing happens to a friend of mine . He was fined 5000 .then after 6 months had passed he went to on leave . But was stopped at the airport and taken straight to jail for 3 months . Then deported afterward .was never the same man afterwards

It is a triple offence. Just ask him to prepare for spending sometime "inside" and then the rest outside Qatar.

if he has RP, then maybe jail time and fines but if there is no RP, then jail time and goodbye Doha.

It all depends on the judge .. Worse case. Scenario is jail time followed by deportation ..

When you are in Rome, behave like the Romans, such is forbidden here so don't dare try it. Drink drive is as well a serious offence in any part of the world.

Firstly drinking and on top driving is a big offence!! I think he will be deported , this also depends on his sponsor and lawyer. I suggest you be ready for the worse case scenario.

Did he crush anybody on that rough road ? No. So it is clear he was able to drive. More so he was caught driving without any loss to anybody ............ He paid for not holding the plastic card ................ What is the issue now ? ..... Forgiving is the best policy in my view .................... So many pilots do the same & reach their destinations safely ........... I wish to add more ........... may be tomorrow .............
