Family Visa for Parents

Hello All, I'm transferred to Qatar by my employer and would be starting my work there in the next 30 days roughly. I've got the following queries and would appriciate if someone could clarify on these,

FYI: My Parent age is 59 & 52, I'm single and not married with a minimum salary of 15000 QAR

a. If I come on a work visa, from when can I bring my parents on a visit visa (can this be done the first month I'm here?).

b. Inintially all the visit visas are given for 1 month as I understood. After my parents arrive here on a 1 month visit visa, how long can I extend their visa further (for 2 months or 5 months?).

c. After 3 months (or after 6 months) if I need to extend the visa is it still possible, if its not possible then I shall send them back to my home country and after this how many days should I wait to apply for a new visit visa for them?

d. Can the visit visas made multiple entry?

e. To apply a permanent dependent visa for my parents, how long should I had to be stayed in Qatar and how many months of my bank statement (proof for salary credit) must be shown to support their visa?

Would be of great help if I get this information, thanks in advance.

Thank you @iswaria for your valuable response..that's what I too read on various online sources..3 months for parents visa.

I'm planning it this way, let me bring them on visit visa, make them stay for 3 months and let them go back to my home country and once I have my 6 months bank statement and house agreement, I'll apply for permanent dependent resident visa and bring them here.

d. Can the visit visas made multiple entry?

no. you cannot make or apply for a multiple entry but you can apply for re-entry visa as long as you will provide or show air ticket especially the date of return. they can leave and come back as much as they want as long as their visa is still valid. the fee is qr200 per application per person.

a. If I come on a work visa, from when can I bring my parents on a visit visa (can this be done the first month I'm here?).

- To apply for Family Visit Visa you will need to have your RP and ID.. Sometimes they also ask for a house contract, bank statement depending on the officer's "mood".

b. Inintially all the visit visas are given for 1 month as I understood. After my parents arrive here on a 1 month visit visa, how long can I extend their visa further (for 2 months or 5 months?).

- Yes all visit visa issued for 1 month extendable by 5 months (6 months total) After their entry into Qatar if you wish to extend their visa you have to take them to the Medical Commission and get a medical examination done by the first week of entry.

Visa renewal can be done through the Metrash2 app. Qr. 200 per month per person.

c. After 3 months (or after 6 months) if I need to extend the visa is it still possible, if its not possible then I shall send them back to my home country and after this how many days should I wait to apply for a new visit visa for them?

- I heard the new rule is you can apply for new visa as soon as they leave the country before there was a 3 month or 6 month waiting period. Now they can just exit the country can come back if you have the visa ready.

d. Can the visit visas made multiple entry?

- No, on a 6 month visa only 1 exit and entry is allowed. Qr. 100 for each person.

e. To apply a permanent dependent visa for my parents, how long should I had to be stayed in Qatar and how many months of my bank statement (proof for salary credit) must be shown to support their visa?

- The old rule was you could not apply for a permanent visa for your parents over 60, recently i heard this has changed and you can apply for parents through the same procedures as any other.

* 3/6 months bank statement of salary transfer.

* Attested copy of House Contract

*Salary more than 12K

*All form filled up in Arabic is preferred. This can be done at any typing center.

Hope this helps, my info may be wrong but this is how is usually is :P

Please, Do not mix your work & family life. Keep both the things separate. You won't be able to give 100% attention to your job, your boss will notice it, this will affect your increment & promotion ........... It is my views ......... ........
