Financial Advice - sending money home, saving
Hi all,
I'm coming out to Qatar in August and just had a couple of questions regarding financial aspects.
Is it easy to transfer money back to banks in England? I'm currently with Nationwide and Lloyds.
Will I be taxed on the money sent home? Is there a certain limit to the amount I can send home?
If I was to take a lump sum home after a couple of years abroad, would I thin get taxed?
Thanks for any advice - just wanted to know the best way to play things!
I started a topic about tax and working a week or so ago. If you earn money in a tax free country, then you are required to pay tax on it to your home country if you intend to return to your home country and are still considered a resident of the UK for tax purpose. I am from Australia but I think it is the same for the UK. They judge whether they consider you still a resident on a case to case basis.
Here's a link to my topic. But I suggest you ring your taxation office.
