If you connect the hard drive to another computer "it's all functioning" ? If that is so, why don't you hook the hard drive to another computer and save your files on a CD or DVD?

And then, if it is not the hard drive you should really go through the BIOS of your computer. Maybe you disabled the Hard Disk Controller?

Dont make format your harddisk in either way... jst remove the power cable (HDD) and the data cable and reconnect n boot. It will be OK :)

Try to boot from the restore disk if you got one when you bought the computer.

Create and try to boot from a boot disk.Check this site: http://www.bootdisk.com/ for more information

Try to reinstall windows and make sure you don't reformat the hard disk so you won't lose ur data.

Back up ur work frequently, as you may have come to realize how important this can be.

Good luck.

you are saying here I believe that your Hard Disk is dead, but ... sometimes it shows that in my PC, then it works fine by itself ... crazy nah? Try to change the Sata cable that connects your Hard Disk to the Bios ... it might be of a bad quality ... If that won't solve it, try connecting it somewhere else.

Can you hear your hard disk working? If not it might be a power problem, the HD is not getting electricity ... To solve that, they have to change the Chip on the HD and you can do that by buying another similar HD, get the new chip and replace the old one.

You can also try to buy one of those HD enclosers that will convert your HD to a USB HD that you can connect just like any external HD.

So sorry to hear that and i hope that would help, but i never believed in Seagate as I know many people who faced many problems like that, or a part of the HD will get corrupted and go beyond repair.

Hey borther,

Don't play with things that you are not confident about. Take your system to SofiTel main building, as soon as you enter through the enterance that opening from Habib Bank, you will find a big workshop for computers.

If you feel the data is really important, give them a spare HDD and ask them to first backup the data and then start the diagonises. They will connect your HDD to another system as slave and move all that you want. This considering your HDD is not gone bad only your OS is dead.

All the best...

Are you telling us that this data is so precious you didn't take regular back ups?

Try some of the PC shops in Sofitel. A friend had a similar problem and took his PC there.

Also, try putting the disk into another PC, sometimes this will work.
