Our pet relocators seem to have let us down in OZ and I need to leave the country ASAP so unless there is miracle I need to find homes for our two dogs.

Is their a refuge or a website for this kind of thing?

The dogs are-

Minka- 2yr old desexed female Cavoodle ( cavalier/poodle cross) a sooky affectionate mainly indoor mid size dog. White and whooly.

Elvis- 2 yr old desexed male Lasso Apso x Maltese Cross affectionate sad faced little dog.Red and long haired.

Both have current rabies shots, vaccinations, treatments etc as they were waiting to fly out. Full records available. Passed all recent tests for rentry to Australia so a high standard.

Any advice on where else to post apprecited.

Phil 6588130 must place in home of refuge before night of 30th August.

Spoke to a few of you and thanks for offers but also arranged a couple from my hospital who can foster at their villa for a while. I think Ive got the next few weeks covered, will be sure tommorrow morning.

The issue will be if no permit and export within 30 days will have to pay for another set of tests - the set last night cost QR3152 for two dogs OUCH! So after 30 days I think they will need to stay.

In the meantime sold some furniture to pay for it all. And worse case can pay for kenneling for up to 30 days too. I'll leave some of your contact details with the foster folks in case they need some help if you don't mind.

Thanks for all your help and suggestions.

Hi there,

I am prepared to look after your dogs, if they get on with my little cockerspaniel.... If it is only until they can get a ticket out to you and not a permanent arrangement. I have in the past boarded other dogs awaiting export, so wont mind. We could arrange to bring our dog and see if they get on.... Can make arangements futher then.

Dream, then live the dream!

The Qatar Animal Welfare society shut down earlier this year, and that was the only re-homing place I knew of. BUT, i have seen signs up in Mega Mart and at the vets. You could try making a poster and putting it up on the "for sale" boards and at the vet offices. Hope it works!

One other alternative you might have is to put them up for a few days/weeks at one of the animal boarding places (Paws and Claws or Pampered Pets) until your relocator (or a new one) gets it's act together and is ready to pick up and transport your dogs. I'm pretty sure they will do that as long as you pre-pay.

Thanks Novita I found her contact email and i think shes called Angela.

I am wondering if the Oz end is in chaos because the whole country has every horse in Quarantine and the racing industry is suspened due to Equine flu?
